About Us
For almost 2 decades, Washington Produce has been serving a large variety of restaurants, caterers, hospitals, and other establishments. We realize that our customers rely on vendors in order to serve their clientele and therefore always go the extra mile for our customers and strive for perfection on a daily basis. At the end of each day, we look back with a lot of pride at the accomplishments our customers and us achieved together.
Unmatched Service
Washington Produce provides customers with service that is simply unmatched in the wholesale food service industry. With a focus on the Inland Empire area, we have been able to develop a strong relationship with the business community in the region. Our customers trust that we will be there for them to provide:
- Deliveries 6 Days Per Week - We are able to deliver to customers Mondays through Saturdays. We are usually able to deliver to any one of our customers on any business day. We don't limit our customers by putting them on a fixed delivery schedule.
- Emergency Same-Day Deliveries - We realize customers sometimes need urgent deliveries. We will be there for you during your time of need. We generally offer twice-daily routes to most regions in the Inland Empire.
- An Expanding Product Line - Although 'produce' is our name, our customers wanted us to carry a larger product line and we listened. We now offer dairy products, meats and chicken, tortillas, breads, asian groceries, and several other items across several food categories.
Our Staff
The staff at Washington Produce consists of a group of dedicated and knowledgeable individuals, working together every day as a cohesive team in order to server our customers and our community. Lead by a restless and customer-focused management team, we work hard each and every day with the following values in mind:
Staff Values
Unlike the majority of companies in our industry, we shy away from a pushy sales force. Instead, we focus on building long-term relationships with our customers and we do it by showing them each day that we are a friendly partner, looking out for their best interest.
Our operations crew consists of a number of department, each with specific responsibilities and goals. Our wholesale market crew is responsible for visiting the various markets in Los Angeles 6 days per week to pickup hundreds of various products. These products are brought back to our main warehouse in Redlands before dawn and are then unloaded by our warehouse crew. Orders for our customers are then prepared and loaded onto multiple trucks. Our drivers then take to the road on various routes to deliver orders early in the morning.
Every member of our operations crew is trained to become intimately familiar with the exact needs and preferences of every customer. They know what products they use regularly and what products can be substituted due to seasonal or market condition changes. And our entire staff is trained to instinctively go the extra mile for all of our customers.
Technological Edge
Since the early 1990's, we have maintained a competitive advantage and operated with efficiency in part by using invoicing, inventory, and purchasing software written entirely by us. The web site which our customers use to submit orders on the internet was also internally developed. Our utilization of custom software technology allows us to adapt and enhance our operations based on customer expectations and the every-changing nature of doing business in the real world. We do not depend on proprietary and limited 3rd party software. We feel that doing so will limit our ability to mold the way we do business in order to best service our customers.
Constant Change
Every business realizes at one point or another that it cannot survive and prosper in a static environment. We learned this early on when life for WP was exclusively focused around retail produce. Needless to say, we are proud of the changes which we have experienced over the last several years.
